It was an unusual race day as the qualifiers just had three riders, Tony from Inferno racing, Blow from CC racing and Dot from Dot09 moving up to the Yamaha YZF-R6 from a KTM Duke 390 which handicapped her against the power of the 600cc bikes.
Riders from 24-7 racing were present but it seems that they are fairly comfortable with the lap times from the previous qualifier. Also, considering that they had a private testing session a few days ago, perhaps it is safe to say they are reasonably confident that they have the pace to beat the current times anyway. This writer thinks that they have quite a bit in the locker that they would rather not unleash until race day in November unless they realise that their riders run the risk of falling down the grid. Exciting times this.
BadBlood of Throttle Heads racing was absent due to an unscheduled dismount he had on his bike during an evening ride in Lagos. It is unsure at the time of writing if he will even be fit to race come November even though his healing process is progressing as expected. We are expecting Throttle Heads racing to make an official announcement on his participation in the coming weeks.

Blow of CC racing was on track during free practice and he put in some flying laps. Looking like he has the pace to push Baadblood28 for second on the grid come November.
As usual, all three (3) riders had two (2) flying laps. Blow blitz his previous lap time by almost seven (7) seconds on his bike – Honda CBR 600RR moving from the Kawasaki ZX6R. Showing us the potential many have been waiting for. With it, he is now up one place to P2 on the grid with BadBlood down a place to P3.
Dot was next, she went about her business without much fuss. Her first lap was what you’d call careful, the second looked like a rider more comfortable with her new bike. We are patiently waiting to see her on track once she is more at one with the bike as she will need to go faster if she harbours any hope of starting the race closer to the front, more importantly having a chance at claiming a podium finish.
Tony was the last rider to get in his qualifying lap of the day. His ZX6 screaming down the start finish straight. On the straights, the bike is more than capable of taking out any of the other bikes. His was four (4) seconds faster than Dot on the day but we are fairly certain that these times will come crashing down again come August.
The biggest loser this weekend was FG55 of 24-7 racing. She looses two spots to find herself in P9. Which makes us question if the gamble of skipping this qualifier was worth it. We will find out in a few months. Hoping all the teams participate to make an exciting qualifying finale.
